Antonio Conte reminds Inter Milan that they need to be on the best of their ability in the upcoming Europa League quarter-final.
Inter Milan go against Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-finals of Europe’s secondary club competition in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Having had no success in either Serie A or Coppa Italia this season, there’s huge pressure on Inter to emerge victorious in the match on Monday.
However, the Nerazzurri, along with Manchester United, who face FC Copenhagen on the same day, are also a strong favorite to go into the next round and eventually lift the Europa League trophy.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Antonio Conte warns his team about their upcoming opponent’s ‘lethal’ counter-attacks as he discusses the approach they need to take in the game.
“Bayer Leverkusen are very dangerous on the counter-attack and we’ve got to be wary that we don’t leave open spaces, or they can be lethal,” he said, as per Football Italia.
“What we need is unity and trying to play the way we prepared it, both on and off the ball.
“These matches are often decided by details, so concentration is key. I expected our hard work to pay off in the long run. This team has to focus on what it does best, which is play football. That is the dream of every coach.”
