Philippe Coutinho revealed he was uncertain about his Barcelona future despite stepping up his game in the club’s 5-1 win over Lyon.
Coutinho completed a £146m move from Liverpool to Barcelona last January but has failed to live up to the big money move at the Camp Nou, which has led to criticism and frustration.
But the midfielder eased up that pressure with an improved display against Lyon when he scored in the club’s 5-1 win.
Rumours of a move to the Reds arch-rivals Man United has dominated headlines in recent weeks and the Barca midfielder was coy about his future after the game
“In the last few weeks, months even, I’ve not been playing well but I still want to improve,” Coutinho revealed in a quote cited on Sky after the Lyon game.
“I came to Barcelona to give my best. I live for the moment. You never know what the future holds.
“I am happy with my performance (against Lyon).”
Coutinho has struggled to break into Valverde’s starting XI, featuring in only 16 league games this season, notching in four goals in all competitions.
Satisfied with his performance against Lyon, Coutinho is looking forward to getting back to action at the weekend.

“Now I’m thinking about the next match,” he said.
“I’m very happy to have won and to have qualified in what was a very important match.”
Barca will discover their quarter-final opponents on Friday afternoon.
