The captain is wearing his armband after seven years in the Russian Premier league where he defended the colors of Zenit Saint Petersburg
Italian left-back Domenico Criscito loves Genoa so much, he has played in the team in many occasions.
The player debuted in the Italian Lega Serie A team in 2003, then he went onto play five years with Juventus.
He was loaned twice to his old club in 2006 and 2007 until Genoa decided to buy him from the Bianconeri in 2009.
But he then spent seven years in the Russian Premier League with Zenit Saint Petersburg, until he returned over the summer to Genoa.
“You should call me Capitan Presente, as I returned and will end my career at Genoa” the player was quoted by Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I had a special relationship with the fans in Russia, seven years went by very quickly and I was fine there. it’s been a privilege for me to be part of that group”.
“I haven’t had any doubt when the president called me, what I feel for the Genoa jersey is really special,” he added.
“This team only need a bit of luck to emerge, we have a few less points but if we think about the games we’ve played, our journey has been good so far and the results will come.”
