Darren Bent wants Tottenham to sell Eriksen

Eriksen has already stated his desire to leave the club this summer and the former striker says that the club can buy two really good players once the Dane leaves.

By the end of last season, Christian Eriksen had revealed that he is ready for a new challenge after spending almost six years at White Hart Lane.

The Dane initially attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid. However, it appears that both clubs are no longer interested in Eriksen.

However, the player’s wishes still stand and former striker, Darren Bent believes that Mauricio Pochettino should cash in on Eriksen. The Englishman says that Spurs would definitely have a couple of replacements in mind.

While speaking to Football Insider, Bent said that the club will raise enough funds from the sale to make a move for two good attacking midfielders.

“Tottenham have to go and buy someone if Eriksen is sold,” Bent told Football Insider.

“If you’re going to go and get £80-100million for Eriksen, you’re going to find maybe 2 top class attacking midfielders but then the way the transfer market’s going at the moment, maybe you’re going to get one for that money.

“But the one that comes in is going to be top, top notch – if you’re going to spend £75million you’re going to get the best of the best.

Harry Kane, Tottenham, Spurs

Rio Ferdinand tells Harry Kane to consider Spurs exit

Rio Ferdinand advised Harry Kane to consider quitting Tottenham should the striker harbour hopes of winning silverware in the future.

“I think if they let Eriksen go they need to find someone who can be of a more offensive mindset who can go and create.

“(He’ll be) young, which obviously they’ll go and do and, to be fair, if they look around they could probably pick up one or two.

“The problem they’re going to have is that everyone’s going to know that if they sell Christian Eriksen for £80 million, they’ve got £80million to spend. That’s where it becomes unfair.

“It’s a tough one because obviously you’d like to keep Christian Eriksen but he’s got one year left on his contract. Do you let him walk away for free? I personally wouldn’t.

“I’d sell him now and get that £80million.

“Like I said, as soon as they sell him, they’re going to have two players in mind who they can go and sign for £75-80million, get that top notch attacking midfielder back in.”

Real Betis midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move to the club but it remains to be seen if Spurs would be able to sell Eriksen on time.
