Manchester City midfielder David Silva is back in training after two weeks out with a hamstring problem.
The Spaniard hasn’t played since Manchester City lost away to Chelsea on 8 December but returned to first-team training at the CFA this week and could be back on time to face Leicester City on boxing day.
Silva, 32, has played 20 games this season, scoring eight goals.
“He’s one of the best players I’ve trained,” Pep Guardiola told the club’s official website about Silva.
“I’ve had a lot at Barca and Bayern but he’s on that list.
“I love players who make a step forward in the bad moments and say: ‘OK I’m here guys’.”
City head to the King Power Stadium second in the Premier League table, four points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Manchester will be hoping to win the match and earn all three points before the next match at home.
