Kevin De Bruyne feels Sadio Mane’s value in the Liverpool team is unparalleled and has unofficially nominated him for the PFA Player of the Season award.
With 14 goals and nine assists in the Premier League so far this season, Sadio Mane has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers.
A fair share of the Reds’ dominant displays this term, as they maintain a huge 25-point league lead, can be credited to Mane as he has helped his side avoid dropping points on several occasions.
The Senegalese’s impressive form made him a strong contender for this season’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Premier League Player of the Season award.
But the ceremony, which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 26, has been put off due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Speaking to BT Sport, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne insists Mane has been a ‘total package’ for Jurgen Klopp’s men and deserves the individual award.
“I would say Mane,” De Bruyne told BT Sport. “I think he has been the total package this year for Liverpool.
“He has been important. So if I had to choose somebody, I would choose Mane.”
