Frenkie De Jong has insisted that Barcelona will try to play their regular brand of football against Real Madrid.
Due to some unrest in the Catalonia region, El Clasico was postponed from late October to a future date. The future date is quickly turning into present as Real Madrid face Barcelona tomorrow at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has expressed his eagerness to witness his Clasico while being a part of it. Although De Jong is no stranger to the pressure against Real Madrid, he is playing against Los Blancos for their first time while wearing the Barcelona jersey.
“Last year’s match with Ajax was very special, but now it’s another game and I’m on another team, so it will be different,” De Jong told FC Barcelona.com
“I’m really excited as it will be my first Clásico. I’ve followed all the others on television and the one I enjoyed the most was the 5-0 at the Camp Nou.
“Two of the best teams in the world will come together on the pitch. We will try to dominate the game, as we always do. I don’t know how they will approach it, but we will do things the same way as any other game: having possession, creating many chances and providing enjoyment for the Barca fans.”
