De Jong tells Real Madrid to sign van de Beek

Frenkie de Jong and Donny van de Beek played together at Ajax, and now the Barcelona star wants Los Blancos to sign his former teammate.

Frenkie de Jong left Dutch Eredivisie champions Ajax this summer to join the Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona.

And now that he’s with the Blaugrana, he asks Real Madrid to sign his former teammate Donny van de Beek.

“I would prefer him to stay at Ajax as I would not have him as an opponent and, in addition, Ajax would remain strong,” De Jong was quoted by The Mirror.

“But if ends up at Real Madrid, I would be really happy for him.”

“I think he deserves it. He is a great player,” he added.

“He showed it last season in the Champions League, especially in the knockout rounds.”

De Jong explained: “He has shown the world and everyone in Europe that he has the ability to play at that level.”

Meanwhile, van de Beek explained his situation: “There are still negotiations.”

“I would like things to be resolved as soon as possible.”

“When I am at the stadium and playing, I don’t ever think about my possible move,” the youngster said.
