Frenkie De Jong has urged Barcelona to keep looking forward and be consistent in their performances.

Lionel Messi caught the opposition defense off guard and spotted Frenkie De Jong with a brilliant lobbed pass who then buried it in the net to level the scoreline against Real Betis last night.

Eventually, Barcelona went on to win the match 3-2.

With Real Madrid leading the La Liga title race, it was a must-win match for the Catalans to put pressure on their arch-rivals. But, more importantly, the victory was also much needed to overshadow Barcelona’s exit from the Copa del Rey earlier.

And speaking after the match, Frenkie De Jong emphasized on the importance of the three points that his side managed to scrape off last night.

“It was very important to win the game and that was not easy. Although, in the end, we could have won by more goals, for the penalty they didn’t give Messi. It was clear, he caught him and pushed him,” De Jong said as per Sportsmax.

“It was hard to lose in the [Copa del Rey] because it was in the last minute and we had a good game. I think we deserved more but we have to look forward.”
