Frenkie de Jong’s mum has given more insight about the Dutch youngster who would complete a move to Barcelona in the summer.
De Jong produced a brilliant display in Ajax 4-1 demolition of Madrid at the Bernabeu which further endeared him to Barcelona fans.
The Dutch prodigy has gradually taken his game to a greater height to become a complete midfielder- the quality the Catalans saw in him and made the move for his signature.
However, his own mother has made it clear moving to the Blaugrana won’t change the 21-year-old.

“Even at Barcelona, he’ll continue to be a normal boy,” Marjon Schuchhard explained to De Telegraaf and cited on Marca.
“Frenkie is calm and thoughtful, I’m proud of him. He doesn’t make decisions without thinking.”
Many players have seen their careers go down the drain after allowing cheap fame to get into their heads, however, De Jong’s mum is less bothered about all that.
“Frenkie doesn’t make decisions for money,” she continued.
“He always thinks about the step he will take several times.
“It’s important that he’s a good footballer, but it’s even more important that he’s a good person, we raised him to be calm and modest.”
There is nothing to be critical of with regards to tattoos, however, De Jong’s mother claims the young lad may not go along that line.
“Many players have those tattoos,” she confirmed. “I said to Frenkie that some of those tattoos will look less beautiful when the person is old.
“He laughed at that and told me he had no intention of getting any.”
