Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed reports that Marko Rog could leave for Sevilla but suggested that he will only be sold
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Napoli in 2016 from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on a five-year deal and has since managed 62 appearances in all competitions.
Under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, however, Rog has only started four of his 11 games this season at Napoli.
This has prompted talk of a move to Spain with Sevilla, despite reported interest from German side Schalke 04.
“I’m not used to buying players and then loaning them out,” De Laurentiis told ABC de Sevilla.
“It’s not in my philosophy and we don’t want to do that. Rog to Sevilla? It’s possible, but they’re not the only club who want the Croatian.
“There are many teams interested in him. I have to go back to Italy and talk to Ancelotti. Once I do that, we’ll make a decision and know what to do.”
Napoli will return to action on Sunday to face Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia in a Round of 16 clash.
