European Golden boy and Ajax skipper has reiterated his commitment to the Dutch giants, suggesting any decision about his future will be known at the end of the season.
Matthijs de Ligt has been linked to top clubs in Europe with the likes of Juventus, Liverpool and Barcelona all interested in his services.
But with his current side, Ajax, still fighting for the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup and the Champions League, De Ligt has decided to suspend all talks linking him to a switch away from Holland.
The centre-back revealed after the match against FC Emmen that he is only thinking about finishing the season in the strongest way possible, and once the three competitions are resolved, then his future will be settled.
“What’s going on? Nothing at the moment,” De Ligt told the Dutch news outlet Veronica Inside via Marca on Wednesday night.
“I’m playing with Ajax, we’ve just beaten FC Emmen [5-2 away from home], we are in the final of the KNVB Cup and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
“With that, there is already more than enough to play for [before making a decision].”
Liverpool fans are hoping Dutch skipper Van Dijk will influence De Ligt to complete a switch to Anfield.
But the Ajax captain may fancy a move to Barcelona currently struggling with defensive issues alongside fellow team-mate De Jong.
