Matthijs de Ligt is convinced that he made the correct decision in choosing Juventus over a few other transfer offers.
Dutch center-back Matthijs de Ligt has shared his line of thought behind moving to Juventus saying that the club offers him a better chance of becoming a ‘more complete player.’
Under the captaincy of the 20-year old, Ajax enjoyed a brilliant run of going as far as the semi-finals of the 2018–19 Champions League. Becoming a regular starter and a key player during his teen years, he was one of the most sought after players last season.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus all were interested in his transfer and De Ligt eventually signed for the latter.
And the 2018 Golden Boy recently explained his decision saying that he saw better opportunities for growth in Juventus. Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he said:
“I had offers last summer from Juventus, PSG, and Barcelona. So, I studied the various options and at the end of the day concluded I could grow faster at Juve.
“They have a particular style and I knew being here would make me a more complete player.”
“I think that I’ve done well in every match since the start of November and I am happy that the club has faith in me.”
