Teenage star Matthijs de Ligt has announced he will not be leaving Ajax during this month’s transfer window

The 19-year-old defender is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City keen on signing him.

In fact, Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman revealed that he has spoken to City boss Pep Guardiola over De Ligt and Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong.

This has led to Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars having to repeatedly deny that De Ligt will leave this month.

And now the Netherlands international himself has confirmed he’s going nowhere at this stage of the season.
