At Manchester United, De Ligt will have a chance to start almost every game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing an upgrade to the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. Eric Bailly could be sold following inconsistent displays.

According to Sport, De Ligt’s advisors have also told him that three years after signing for the English giants, Barcelona will come back asking for him. The Spanish giants would even be willing to pay a hefty fee for him.

It remains to be seen however what the player will decide. Currently on a break, De Ligt has said that he needs some downtime before making a decision.

“I still don’t know what shirt I will wear after such a long season as this, now I just want to relax,” the youngster stated after losing to Portugal in the Nations League final.
