The Dutch superstar has yet to decide where to play, but the defender admitted he dreams of becoming like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Dutch footballer Matthijs De Ligt is being watched by many of Europe’s top clubs.
The player is part of Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax but has attracted a lot of interest from clubs like Barcelona and Juventus.
And it is said that the Bianconeri have the upper hand in trying to attract him to sign for the Italian Lega Serie A champions.
Today, he admitted he dreams of becoming like Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Everything is going fast. During the season, in the club and during the various competitions, you don’t really have time to think about it,” he told Calcio Mercato.
“However, sometimes I realize it, as recently when I had dinner with my childhood friends who I used to play with.”
“We came to the conclusion that I always wanted to be Cristiano Ronaldo when we played football in the garden,” he said.
“Especially during the period when he played at Manchester United. Even my first football shirt was his.”
“That dinner took place immediately after the two challenges against Juventus, in which I had to face Ronaldo,” he concluded.
