“If we sit here in four years, I think we [will] win one title,” Jurgen Klopp announced upon becoming Liverpool manager in October 2015.
The German, who dubbed himself as “The Normal One” in response to Jose Mourinho’s “Special One” introduction to the English press, was modest in his career-accomplishments and what awaited him at Liverpool. He knew the task at hand was no laughing matter.

The Reds were down in 10th place in the Premier League. Had won no league titles since 1990 and only claimed two pieces of major silverware since winning the Champions League in 2005. The club had very much become a fallen empire.
