The great comeback

Liverpool’s incredible comeback win against Borussia Dortmund from a 4-2 aggregate deficit in the 2016 Europa League quarter-finals was something special. Three goals in the last 24 minutes sent them into the next round, sending Klopp and the supporters into a frenzy.
But the Champions League victory against Barcelona was arguably more of a special and defining moment.
After losing the first-leg 3-0 to the Catalan giants in last season’s semi-final tie, nobody expected any miracles in the return leg at Anfield. But how wrong were they? In what has to be one of Anfield’s greatest nights, Liverpool scored four unanswered goals to reach the final.
Not even Lionel Messi had an answer for the formidable Reds, who later defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the final itself.
This win will probably be remembered for decades at least, and it fuelled the growing belief inside the squad.
