Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann are both in contention to return to action in time for Barcelona’s next Champions League match.
Barcelona appears to be in line for a boost to their squad as they prepare to face Napoli in the Champions League.
The Catalan giants have been without Ousmane Dembele for some time. But for the COVID-19 lockdown, he would not have been available until the 2020/21 season.
Griezmann on the other hand missed Barcelona’s final two matches of the La Liga campaign with a thigh injury.
There was no official update on the French pair’s potential availability to Quique Setien for selection.
However, the club did reveal that they were back at the Tito Vilanova training facility and working out.
The official website said:
“At 9.30 am local time on the Tito Vilanova field at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, it was a welcome sight to see Antoine Griezmann there, albeit in isolation from the rest of the group.”
“Another injured Frenchman, Ousmane Dembélé, also appeared to do individual exercises.”
The club also posted pictures of the two players undergoing increased levels of workout in today’s respective personal training sessions.
Dembele is already back on the ball.
While Griezmann is hard at work with the weights.
