Barcelona have confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will be sidelined for up to three to four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in their win over Lyon.

Dembele was a major doubt for the Champions League encounter but was later risked in the game as a substitute.

The World-Cup winner rewarded Valverde’s faith with the fifth goal in the game only to further aggravate his injury problems in the process.

Goals from Messi, Coutinho and Dembele helped to obliterate the stubborn Ligue 1 rivals 5-1, to continue Barca’s unbeaten run at the Camp Nou.

According to Marca, medical test on Thursday morning confirmed the pacy French winger will likely miss the Champions League quarter-finals.

With the quarter-final fixtures set to be played in the second and third weeks of April, the winger needs a speedy recovery to stand a chance of featuring in the game.

Dembele will now miss LaLiga Santander matches with Real Betis, Espanyol, Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and Huesca.

The winger will be a massive loss in Barca’s chase for trophies on three fronts, having contributed effectively to the club’s campaign.
