The last fixture of Group D brought us a spectacle as Ireland and Denmark played it out with qualifying for European Championship at stake.

Ireland hosted Denmark with a big motivation to win. Three points for the Irish would mean automatic qualification for the hosts.

However, Denmark struck first as Braithwaite scored to make it 1-0. However, The Green Army fought back at 85th minute as Doherty tied the score.

The hope went up and the atmosphere was peaking. Despite all of that, Ireland failed to score.

This means that Denmark ended the group with 16 points. Ireland came up second with 13, and a shocking goal difference of 7:5.

All is not lost for Ireland, though, as they can still qualify for Euro 2020 via the playoffs in March.
