Didier Deschamps insists Olivier Giroud knows what he needs to do in terms of his future and his place in the French national side.
Olivier Giroud has no future at Chelsea. That has never been more certain.
This season should have been huge for Giroud with the departure of Eden Hazard and Chelsea under a transfer embargo.
Instead new manager Frank Lampard opted to promote Tammy Abraham from the academy.
Giroud has failed to make many matchday squads nevermind make it on to the field.
Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps has still favored Giroud as a key figure in his team.
However, even he is growing concerned about the striker’s lack of playing time.
In an interview reported in the Mirror, he has advised him things need to change.
“His situation at Chelsea has not changed for two months.”
“It would be better for him, obviously, to go to a club where he will have more playing time.”
“If he cannot have this playing time at Chelsea, the idea is to be able to have it elsewhere.”
“Keep in mind that it’s the daily life of players with their clubs that leads to France selection.”
“He knows it.”
The question is will he get regular playing time there?
