Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell debuted with Northern Ireland this weekend.

But the guardian of the goal had to endure a 2-1 defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes to see how Haris Duljevic and Elvis Saric would score for the visitor’s win.

But for Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill, this debut deserves to be praised.

“Bailey will be disappointed to concede two goals on his debut but I felt he looked assured and confident,” O’Neill told The Yorkshire Evening Post as echoed by HITC.

“I was delighted with Bailey.”

“I thought he acquitted himself very well. He had no chance with the first goal. He looked very assured in everything else that he did.”

Now the Northern Ireland national team will play Israel on a friendly match at Windsor Park this Tuesday night.
