Manchester City are adding another Brazilian, Diego Rosa, to their ranks after securing Yan Couto to their roster for the 2020/21 campaign.
Manchester City like the samba flavor and want to have more of it in their dressing room.
After acquiring Yan Couto from Coritiba FC for £5 million, the Citizens are back in Brazil for another youngster. According to TalkSport, the target of their attention is Diego Rosa.
Rosa was in Rio de Janeiro to complete his medical, which he successfully did. Only the contract needs to be signed.
Manchester City has offered a lucrative five-year contract to Rosa, which he will be welcome too.
However, it looks unlikely that the Brazilian teenager will be part of Guardiola’s roster until January. He does not turn 18 until October and is not allowed to under FIFA laws.
With the coronavirus pandemic affecting businesses worldwide, Brazil has been especially hard hit. The English side’s interest in the Gremio academy graduate will help his parent club secure much-needed finance.
Gremio has managed to secure £21.5 million for their prodigious talent. However, in a deal similar to Couto’s, City will only pay £4.5 million upfront.
Guardiola will be pleased with the transfer business but his attention is firmly fixed on Real Madrid, who they take on in Champions League Round of 16, second leg at the Etihad.
