Lille have wasted no time in signing a replacement for the new Gunners striker.

Lille knew that with Nicolas Pepe heading out of the door. They were going to need goals from somewhere.

Upstep Victor Osimhen. According to a report form, beIn Sports, he has signed a five year deal with the French side.

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen joins from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi.

It is believed the fee is somewhere in the region of 12 million Euros.

Lille president Gerard Lopez has moved quickly to secure the services of a player that netted 20 times on loan at Charleroi last season.

The 20-year-old failed to score a single goal for Wolfsburg where he started his professional career.

However, a move to Charleroi seemed to be the change he needed to get his game off the ground. He managed 20 goals in 36 appearances.

His predecessor Pepe scored 23 goals in all competitions as Lille. They finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain last season.

They are some big boots to fill. But the Nigerian feels he is up to the challenge.

In his first interview for Lille he said:

“I am very happy to be here and to join this great club.”

“I am still young, I am learning and I think that this project suits me perfectly to continue to progress.”

“Lille is a very good club that leads a quality project and includes high-class players.”

“Great Nigerian players have also played here. I would like to join their lineage and follow their footsteps.”
