Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has broken his silence on Jadon Sancho amid speculations linking the Englishman with a big-money transfer to Manchester United.
A long-running transfer saga involving Sancho’s move from Dortmund to Manchester United has very much been playing out in public.
Former Manchester City youth academy graduate is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s primary transfer objective for the summer, although the Bundesliga powerhouse continue to fight tooth and nail to obstruct the deal.
Indeed, ‘Die Borussen’ have slapped a staggering £100million price tag one their jewel’s head and are said to be reluctant to make any coronavirus discount.
United remain confident of getting the deal over the line, but it would require the Germans to soften their stance on the asking price.
Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has now refused to rule out Sancho’s departure but insisted he would like to see the England international stay put for another season.
“Jadon is an outstanding footballer with a quota that I have never seen at this age,” he said, as transmitted by Daily Mirror.
“I think it would even stand up to being one of the largest in the industry if you look at his age.
“I would be happy if he would still play with us this season. And that’s the current state of affairs.
“First of all, we have to stick to the facts – and they are so, that we still have a contract with him until 2022.”
Manchester United fans have gone wild on social media after Sancho posted an Instagram photo featuring the Red Devils star Marcus Rashford yesterday.
The 20-year-old’s action came hours after multiple media across Europe claimed United and Dortmund are on the brink of finding an agreement for the youngster to move to Old Trafford.
