Dortmund come from two down to beat Inter

Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down to beat Inter Milan 3-2.

Romelu Lukaku was unable to help his Inter Milan teammates in the UEFA Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

As things stand, Inter and Dortmund are battling for second place in Group F behind Barcelona.

After the Catalonians earlier draw with Slavia Prague, it was a chance to take a grip on the second place, and close the gap on Valvede’s stuttering team.

Inter got off to a blistering start, with a goal in the fifth minute from Manchester United target Lautaro Martinez.

Before the half, Vecino doubled Antonio Conte’s teams lead.

Halftime: Borussia Dortmund 0 – 2 Inter Milan.

But a spirited Dortmund team without captain Marco Reus never gave up and continued to dominate.

According to the BBC they had over 60 percent possession nad some 21 shots.

Achraf Hakimi, who is in Borussia on a two-year loan from Real Madrid, made the pressure count six minutes after the restart.

Julina Brandt brought parity to the scoreline in the 64th minute.

Inter were now desperate to hold on to get something out of the game with 25 minutes to go.

Conte took of Lukaku and Biraghi to give his side some fresh legs and a slightly more protective look.

Inter’s Keeper Samir Handanovic kept in the game with several important saves.

But on a night that saw Jadon Sancho a little quieter than his usual self, he finally got in on the action.

Providing the definitive pass that saw Morrocan international Hakimi get his second of the night and his side’s winner in the 77th minute.

Final score: Borussia Dortmund 3 – 2 Inter Milan.

Dortmund now sits second in Group F just one point behind Barcelona.
