Borussia Dortmund are reportedly preparing to offer a bumper new deal to Jadon Sancho to ward off Manchester United interest.
Sancho’s name features in Manchester United’s wishlist close to the top, but the parties remain way apart in their valuation of the lightning-quick forward.
Dortmund are continuing to hold out for a £108million asking price for the 20-year-old, while the Red Devils deem that figure excessive in the current climate.
Additionally, United are unlikely to adhere to the Bundesliga side’s deadline to submit a satisfying bid.
‘Die Borussen’ have informed the interested clubs they are only willing to discuss Sancho’s sale by August 10.
Since no offers have arrived as of yet, Dortmund are looking to tie their most prized asset down to a new, improved contract, per Daily Mirror.
Sancho still has two years left on his contract at the Signal Iduna Park that sees him pocket €6million a year on the name of the deal.
But, the club is ready to extend his stay for at least one year by offering him a substantial pay raise. Indeed, if he accepts fresh terms, Sancho should increase his annual earnings to €10million.
Sancho has been nothing short of astonishing since moving to the Bundesliga from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
During a three-year spell in Germany’s top-flight, the super-talented youngster has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe’s top-five leagues.
Notably, he’s hit double digits in both of his last seasons with Lucien Favre’s team, managing 33 goals and 39 assists in total.
