Erling Haaland’s release clause at Borussia Dortmund has gone public and it’s very low given the player’s form and reputation.
News has broken about Norwegian scoring sensation Erling Haaland’s release clause. Apparently a mere 63 million pounds, which is a little over 70 million Euros and Dortmund have to sell.
There are some reports suggesting it may even be as low as 60 million Euros. Whatever it is, given his current form it’s too cheap.
The Bundesliga side beat off a host of Europe’s elite to secure the teenager for just 18 million pounds. The deal left many in shock as to how and why.
German news outlet Bild has now gone public on the details of his contract, and such clauses that United was wary of are present.
The reasons behind United’s stance are becoming clearer.
They believe that this clause can only be executed after this summer transfer window. So Lucien Favre can enjoy his star for a little while yet.
Haaland has been in sensational form all season and only got better since he arrived in Germany.
Whether the buyout fee is 60 or 70 million Euros, given his current form, someone is going to get a bargain in a year’s time.
