The inhabitants of Stamford Bridge have dropped to second place in Group C with seven points from four matches.

However, a win in any of their last two games could ensure Chelsea’s place in the knockout stages of the biggest stage in European club football: The Champions League.

Former Chelsea striker Drogba posted his message on social media, encouraging his former club while applauding Eusebio Di Francesco’s side for the top-notch performance that the Italian side displayed.

“Never an easy place to play, but not the result expected but we’re still in Chelsea,” Drogba wrote on his Twitter profile.

After encouraging the Blues, the striker congratulated to Roma: “Keep it up AS Roma. Confirmed what I saw a few weeks ago.”

He left Chelsea and moved to Shanghai for one year before he was transferred to Galatasaray for a year. After his adventure in Turkey, Drogba returned to Chelsea for one more season, appearing in 28 games and scoring 4 goals for the Blues.

In 2015, he moved to Montreal where he had a really successful MLS season, scoring 21 goals in 33 games before moving to the USA in 2017. So far Drogba has 9 goals in 13 games for Phoenix Rising.
