Legendary ex-Chelsea player Didier Drogba has decided it’s time for a dramatic change in his image, as he said goodbye to his flowing locks

The iconic Ivorian striker has shed his trademark locks and is now sporting a more streamlined look as he welcomes the birth of a “new me”, GOAL reports. One thing hasn’t changed, though: the former Chelsea striker is still going strong at the age of almost 40, consistently showing up for his side, Phoenix Rising.

However, he has decided to start a new chapter in his professional life, by letting go of his trademark locks, which everyone knew back at Stamford Bridge, while he scored countless goals for the Blues.

That’s been a long time ago now, as Drogba will be heading into retirement once his current deal in Phoenix comes to an end. And with that transition in mind, the Chelsea legend has opted for a complete overhaul.

The Ivorian icon will be hanging up his magical boots after an amazing, trophy-laden professional career. He started from Le Mans in France, before moving on to establish his name in Ligue 1 first, as he played at Guingamp and Marseille.

It was 2004, when Chelsea decided to go for him, and signed Drogba as their number one striker. From that point on, everything changed for the better at Stamford Bridge. Drogba spent 8 years in London, winning three Premier League titles along with four FA Cups, two League Cups and the most prestigious title in Europe: the Champions League.

He returned for a second spell at Stamford Bridge following two seasons with Galatasaray and helped himself to another Premier League crown and League Cup triumph, GOAL continues.

After his European triumph seasons, he moved to Canada in 2015, to join MLS side Montreal Impact, before signing with Phoenix Rising as a free agent in 2017.
