Paul Dummett was injured for a major part of this season but he has still enjoyed a successful Newcastle’s ride to avoid the relegation – and he believes that Benitez will stay for many years to come.

The defender has been playing for the Magpies since 2012 when he made his debut and he decided to stay at the club even after being relegated two seasons ago – and he hopes that he will experience only better times now.

Dummett spoke about Benitez’s importance as he said, according to Sky Sports:

“When we were in the Championship some people said we had a Premier League team and when we got in the Premier League they said we had a Championship team.”

“He’s done well with us. He’s steadied the ship with our team. We don’t ship loads of goals every game like we’ve maybe done in the past.”

“He’s been great with me and great with the other lads so hopefully, we can keep him for many years to come and keep progressing.”
