The Fiorentina star talked with Ronaldo after Serbia defeated Portugal earlier this month.
Dusan Vlahovic has established himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe. At the age of 21, he has already attracted interest from some of the greatest clubs abroad.
The Fiorentina striker secured a World Cup spot with Serbia earlier this month as they sent Portugal to the playoffs. In a new interview, Vlahovic has revealed his conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo after the game.
“I went to him and in that moment, understandably, he was very nervous and angry,” Vlahovic told Serbian outlet Telegraf.
“The only thing he said to me, as is more or less well known, was that the goal in Belgrade should have been allowed, that this maybe turned everything around and that was that, generally speaking. I wished him luck in the playoffs and said that they will go through because they have one of the best players in the world.”
Portugal are among the top candidates to reach World Cup through the playoffs. However, Ronaldo and his teammates must battle powerful teams such as Italy, Poland, and Sweden to secure their qualification.
Like always, Ronaldo will be key for Portugal’s potential success. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is enjoying great form this season. Despite Man United’s struggles, he has consistently delivered convincing performances for the Red Devils. On Tuesday, he broke the deadlock in Man United’s 2-0 win over Villarreal, marking yet another brilliant Champions League appearance.
