Following Inter Milan’s 2-1 victory over Bolgna, Eder was pleased to see his side return to winnings ways in their first win of the new year
The Italian striker scored the second goal for Inter and his second in as many matches. Eder revealed that the team had to make many sacrifices to turnaround the club’s recent slum in form, which saw them go eight games without winning.
“We needed the win today, it’s even better because it came about through sacrifice and this will make us stronger. We’re in third place, the dressing room is united and we’re all fighting for the same objective, we’ll be up there and it will be a fight up until the end of the season.” said Eder, according to the club website.
The 31 year-old also expressed his hope that injured star Maurco Icardi would make a return soon.
“Mauro is extremely important for our team and I hope he’ll recover for next week because we need him. We need to bring consistency on Saturday because it will be a tough match at a tough place to visit.”
“Since I’ve been at Inter, the dressing room has been united. We’re all on the same page on the pitch, the Coach knows this and it gives us confidence.”
Debutant Lisandro Lopez was happy to see his new side get back to winning ways in his first game for the club.
“The important thing today was that the team got back to winning ways, then I’m obviously very happy to have made my debut. It was a difficult match, we can take positives and negatives from it that we’ll work on in the week. Italian football is more physical and tactical compared to Portuguese football, I’m working to adapt in as quick a time as possible. The challenge from Masina? I can feel some pain but it’s nothing serious.” Lopez told the club website.
