With Marcus Rashford injured, Manchester United look towards Edison Cavani as a potential option
He might share his first name with the man who invented the light bulb, but PSG star, Edison Cavani knows that he can ‘light up’ Old Trafford with a potential move in the on-going transfer window, by showing them signs of his attacking prowess and predatory instincts.
Well, it’s a no brainer that Manchester United are in dire need of a striker, more so after Marcus Rashford’s ankle injury came to the fore. The Red Devils, who are short of options up front, will need to act swiftly in the coming days as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes a ‘desperate short-term solution’ to fix the current scenario for the 13-time Premier League champions.
In fact, Rashford’s injury comes at a time when PSG manager Thomas Tuchel made it public that Uruguay’s Cavani has not been offered a contract with the Parisian club. And with the 32-year-old striker keen on playing regular football, even in the twilight of his career, this move could be the perfect coincidence for the red side of Manchester.
And if the move does materialise, Cavani will follow the footsteps of Diego Forlan, who played under Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, nearly two decades ago. So, the question remains- Will the coming days see Edison Cavani enroute to Old Trafford? It remains intriguing.
