According to manager Javier Aguirre, his team can deliver better performance when they play against DR Congo this Wednesday.
Egypt won by a single goal in front of 70,000 people last Friday, in the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The rival, Zimbabwe, played well, but according to critics and fans, the team should have done better.
Which is why manager Javier Aguirre believes he can guide his team to a better result against DR Congo this Wednesday.
“DR Congo could have done more in their first game, same for us against Zimbabwe,” Mexican coach Aguirre told Four Four Two.
“I hope we could have a better performance. Our target is the three points to qualify to the next round.”
DR Congo’s coach Florent Ibenge also spoke about their first defeat against Uganda in the opening match: “We had a bad game and deserved to lose against Uganda. Now we have to do it the hard way.”
“It’s going to be a very difficult game for us but we will do our best.”
“We will play to have the best result despite the fact that Egypt is playing at home,” he commented about the Pharaohs.
“We will not adopt a defensive method because we want to qualify.”
