Unai Emery has included Arsenal as “one of six” sides who can win the Europa League despite suggesting it would be too close to call.

The Gunners overturned their 1-0 deficit to beat the Belarusian side 3-0 to secure a place in the last 16 of the competition.

And Emery who has previously won the Europa League three years in succession with former club Sevilla was impressed with the display of his lads.

After their emphatic win, he said via Sky Sports: “We can win. Maybe if we can say there are six teams that can win it, one is Arsenal. But it’s very difficult. A lot of teams want the same thing.

“We need to enjoy this competition a lot and create a big atmosphere with our supporters. This feeling can give us more possibilities, with our quality as a team.

“We need to feel stronger in this competition, and create this atmosphere around us.”

Arsenal delivered a tepid performance in the first leg seven days ago, allowing BATE to win a European knockout game for the first time in their history.

But ended up delivering a slick performance at the Emirates on Thursday night to keep their hopes of silverware alive.

Lichtsteiner hints on a possible summer exit

Stephan Lichtsteiner has hinted that a summer exit from Arsenal could be on the cards. The former Juve full-back was the first signing of Unai Emery era...

“The first result was not good for us, so we needed a big effort tonight,” Emery added. “We needed to be careful because we needed to score the amount we did tonight, because if they scored one they would have a possibility to go through.

“We had a good focus for 90 minutes to make sure we didn’t concede a lot of chances to them.”

Winning the Europa League will secure a safe passage to the Champions League even if they miss out in the League front and you can’t write off their chances with Emery at the helm.
