Empoli’s survival depends on beating Inter

The team has moved out of the relegation zone in the Italian Lega Serie A, but they need their next three points to be saved.

Empoli defeated Torino 4-1 in today’s Italian Lega Serie A fixture, and the team has gotten out of the relegation zone.

And to be saved and stay one more season in the top-flight, the team will have to take on Internazionale Milano and beat them in order to secure their position.

“We gave our best against Torino,” coach Aurelio Andreazzoli told Football Italia.

“We’re just sorry that we only have one more game left. We want to continue playing now that we are in this good run. The team is full of desire now.”

He explained: “We are doing well from a physical point of view, and we believed all week that the result was never in doubt. We could have scored even more today, as Salvatore Sirigu was their best player.”

“I’m very satisfied, we played the way we had worked on during the week, we got a lot of crosses into the box. We eased off at the start of the second half, allowing them to equalize, and that could have been a heavy blow, but we recovered well.”
