The exciting winger has been linked with a return to England with both Liverpool and Manchester United seeking his signature in January.
The English Premier League is your destination if you are a high profile player. The clubs have money and it is the most watched league in the world. It is pretty much straight forward.
Not everyone can play for Real Madrid and Barcelona.
And for an English player to ply his trade out of the country is unthinkable. If you have what it takes, you have to prove it in the Premier League. You have to be playing in the country if you are a regular for the national team.
It is under these circumstances that Jadon Sancho has been linked with a return to England. His stellar performances under Lucien Favre have not gone unnoticed. Such has been his rise that Christian Pulisic had to seek a move away from BVB in search of regular minutes on the pitch.
And Sancho is no ordinary talent hyped by the media. He has proven with his displays at the Westfalenstadion. Not only does he participate in buildup for goals, he gets on the score sheet regularly. It is his ability to trouble the scorers that a move to England is closer than before.
English giants, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the young star. And if the media is to be believed, talks will begin in earnest over January.
Liverpool and Manchester United to lock horns
However, it looks unlikely that 19 year old will move to either clubs in the mid-year transfer window.
Liverpool will like to have reliable reinforcements but they are well stacked in attack. Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Rhian Brewster can tackle issues between them.
And the Reds are not going to splash outlandish sums in January. Van Dijk was a requirement two years ago, Sancho will be a luxury.
On the other hand Manchester United would love to get Sancho amongst their ranks. They have the money and willingness to make him a part of the dressing room at Old Trafford.
Moreover, the Red Devils need attacking players with Mason Greenwood being fast tracked to the first team after the departure of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs reinforcements at the front and Sancho is the archetype long term signing they want. He is young, quick and scores goals.
The fact that he was groomed in Manchester City’s youth academy really tips the balances in his favor. To top it all off, he is English and in a couple of years can pass as a home grown player.
But for Sancho the move does not makes any sense. He will be moving from one struggling team to an other. The Norwegian is bereft of creativity and nothing can be said about Solskjaer’s future.
Not to mention his ineptitude as a manger. He is doing worse than Mourinho despite getting the players he wanted.
As it stands, for financial reasons and club’s future, Jadon Sancho will not move to the English Premier League.
