Chimbonda believes a move to Manchester United over Real Madrid would be better for Christian Eriksen.
Former Tottenham defender Chimbonda feels Christian Eriksen would slot right into the Manchester United lineup due to their lack of enough creative options. Whereas, signing for either of Real Madrid or Barcelona could leave him warming the bench due to their stacked midfield.
Christian Eriksen has been holding off his contract extension with Tottenham. Furthermore, Jose Mourinho seems to have a bad taste for the Dane as he is often dropped to the bench for the likes of Harry Winks, Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, and Erik Lamela.
Although previous expressing his lover Los Blancos, Eriksen has been advised not to think of joining them by Chimbonda.
“He’s hinted before that he wants to go and play for Real Madrid or Barcelona. But I don’t think he’s going to get either move. They’re both stacked with riches in midfield already and I don’t see where he gets in,” he told Gambling.com.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes to Manchester United. They need to update their midfield and they could do a lot worse than Eriksen.
“That would be a better move for him because he’d play week-in-week-out. Whereas, at Madrid or Barca, he’d only be a back-up.
“Maybe he’ll wait until the end of the season, after the Euros perhaps, before weighing up his options.”
