Europa League draw groups E and F

Europa League groups E and F are jam-packed with big guns.

UEFA.com confirmed that Europa League group E consists of, Lazio, Celtic, Rennes and CFR Cluj.

Celtic and Rennes have previous;y encountered each other in the Champions League. Celtic came out on top, so Rennes will be out for revenge.

CFR, on the other hand, should not be underestimated, they knocked Celtic out of the earlier Champions League qualifying rounds.

Neil Lennon the Celtic manager said:

“It’s a great draw: a couple of glamour games and the chance for some retribution against Cluj.”

“Lazio is a great draw. A trip to Rome is something everyone will look forward to.”

“I think we can make an impact in the group.”

They will need to perform better than they did in the Champions League qualifiers. CFR Cluj already disposed of them once.

While Rennes president Olivier Letang is cautious but up for the challenge, he said:

“We will have nice matches with Glasgow and Lazio at home, which will please our fans.”

“Cluj eliminated Celtic in Champions League qualifying before being transferred to the Europa League, so we must not underestimate them.”

“We will try to be here for the next draw – that is our goal.”

Celtic will do well to get out of this group, Lazio has to be the favorites, but don’t discount Rennes.

Mesut Ozil, Arsenal, Europa League, Unai Emery

‘Helpless’ Mesut Ozil vows to fight for Arsenal future

A ready Mesut Ozil is determined to fight his way back into Unai Emery's plans despite feeling "helpless" over his current situation at Arsenal.

Plus Cluj has shown they will fight anyone and no give up easy.

UEFA.com confirmed that Europa League group F will consist of, Arsenal, Frankfurt, Standard Liege, and Vitoria SC.

Arsenal and Standard Liege last net back in 2009, the Gunnars ran out 2-0 winners.

Arsenal must be confident, but there is no easy game for them n this group.

Given the huge outlay this summer from Unai Emery, he will be expected to do well.

After last years final upset against Chelsea, he needs to show that he is the master of this trophy after having multiple successes with Sevilla.

Eintracht’s Adi Hutter said of the draw:

“We think we will have a decent chance to advance from this group.”

“Arsenal have as a top manager in Unai Emery and a lot of Bundesliga-experienced players.”

“Liège have a big tradition and a quality squad. We are looking forward to this group.”

“It is a very interesting and attractive group, of which Arsenal are surely favourites.”

Lazio and Arsenal should dominate, but neither of these groups has easy games with guaranteed points.

These two groups will fight it out every game and don’t be surprised if an unexpected contender makes it through to the round of 32.
