Eusebio Di Francesco has emerged as one of the leading candidates to take over as Sevilla head coach from next season.
One name linking Di Francesco to the Sevilla role is the club’s current sporting director, Monchi, who worked alongside Monchi at Roma.
Monchi quickly moved on from the Serie A side to join Sevilla following Di Francesco’s dismissal in March just in the space of a week.
Now, it appears that the two could reunite at Sevilla with Di Francesco being one of the candidates to become head coach, MARCA.com have been able to confirm.
It’s been reported Monchi even invited the 49-year-old to watch the derby clash between Sevilla and Real Betis at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on April 13.
Other names linked to the job are Joaquin Caparros and Marseille boss Rudi Garcia, though Monchi’s preference is for the Italian to take the reins.
Before taking over at Roma, Di Francesco had coached Virtus Lanciano, Pescara, Lecce and Sassuolo.
Eusebio guided Roma to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season. However, things fell apart in the current campaign after the exit of high profile names.
