Everton are interested in signing Sweden’s Emil Forsberg, according to Daily Star.
The Merseyside club have named the Swedish number 10 one of their summer transfer targets as new boss Marco Silva looks to improve his team.
Forsberg recently signed a new deal with current club RB Leipzig and it is believed only a deal in excess of £25million would be enough to secure his services from his current club.
The attacking midfielder’s reputation has taken a huge uplift after putting up top-notch performances for Sweden at the World Cup. The Swedes won a group that included the likes of Germany, Mexico and South Korea boasting one of the best defensive records in the tournament.
But their fairy-tale run came to an end at the hands of England yesterday, with Southgate’s men defeating the Swedes 2-0 courtesy of goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig are also interested in the signature of Everton’s Ademola Lookman. The German Bundesliga side have had an offer of around £12million rejected with new boss Silva of believing that the 20-year-old can play a part in the first team.
Should Forsberg decide to leave Germany, Liverpool and Arsenal would offer stiff competition to Everton for his services.
