Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks like a first-choice Everton striker after last night’s win.
Amidst league crisis in results, Everton needed a League Cup desperately to get back on track.
Traveling to face Sheffield Wednesday, Marco Silva’s men were facing a lot of pressure, with the media and the fans on their back.
However, the Toffees took home a victory, mostly thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s great performance.

The Everton striker scored a brace, which were the only goals of the match, too.
Everyone at Everton will breathe a sigh of relief, as they can host the current Champions, Manchester City, with just a little bit less pressure.
The task will be all but easy, with City demolishing Watford in 8-0 win last week.
However, Everton seem to have a new ace up their sleeve. With a brace last night, Calvert-Lewin gained a ton of confidence.
After the match, the Everton striker said:
“I’m confident that I’m going to score more goals now,’ said the England under-20s World Cup-winning forward. ‘It was only a matter of time before I got my first one and thankfully that came against Bournemouth and I was happy to get another two here.
“For me it’s all about scoring goals so I am hoping to kick on from here. I was happy with my first one (against Wednesday) because I had a lot of time to think about it and it was a touch and a finish. For the second it was good movement around the box and Alex (Iwobi) has managed to pick me out for a tap-in,” as quoted by Daily Mail.
With a lack of striking options upfront, Silva had to improvise, using Richarlison as a Number 9. However, that shouldn’t be the case anymore, as Calvert-Lewin found his confidence.
The Englishman scored six goals last season, and he hopes to top up his tally as the first-choice striker for Everton.
