From coach Luciano Spalletti to goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, the team’s footballers are delighted to have defeated Sampdoria 2-1 at San Siro Stadium.

Internazionale Milan recorded its third consecutive win in February as they defeated Sampdoria 2-1 at San Siro Stadium.

And for coach Luciano Spalletti, today’s victory was especially sweet.

“In the first half, we were a bit too afraid of making mistakes and this meant that we couldn’t move the ball quickly like how we wanted to,” he told Inter’s website.

“After the break, we made use of all our individual quality to haul the team forward.”

“The applause from our fans after the goal to make it 1-1 was wonderful because it gave us energy after the equalizer and allowed us to go again and sort things out,” he added.

Inter Milan is now in third place of the Serie A table with 46 points, thanks to 14 wins, four draws, and six defeats.

“These are three vital points because we maintain the distance from the sides chasing behind us,” Matteo Politano added.

“Sampdoria plays very well and we’re satisfied with this win.”

“It wasn’t easy, but we have a strong and tight-knit group and we’re showing it at this time,” he commented.

“Mauro Icardi? He’s an Inter player, he’s very important for us so let’s hope that he comes back soon. Everything is fine for us. Now, we need to think about the Europa League straight again.”

Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic added: “It was vital to get the three points and we fought from the first until the last minute to get the win.”

“In the end, we’ve managed to get a very important victory. Today, we had to play an excellent side that passes the ball very well.”

“Furthermore, they were extremely determined because this game came at a difficult time for them. Fighting hard forms the basis of everything,” he concluded.
