Mikel Arteta finished his first campaign as a football manager with FA Cup triumph and the weight of expectations is increasing on him.
More importantly, the FA Cup was secured for Gunner fans. The win meant a lot as Arteta got his first taste of silverware in the managerial hot seat.
The weight of expectations is higher now as Gunners look at Arteta to deliver more success. Former Enyimba and Nigeria forward Victor Ezeji certainly believes this.
Ezeji praised the Spanish tactician for improving the stagnant Gunners. However, he believes that after the first right steps, Arteta should enter the transfer market wisely to reinforce.
The Nigerian forward was of the opinion that correct recruitment will pay dividends for the novice manager.
“He inherited players that might not be his wish, but I think we should give him another season to see what he can really bring to the table because he has done so well with the Arsenal team considering the position they were when he took over and where he has taken them to,” Ezeji told Goal.
“The problem is they were not consistent but I think overall he has done well.”
“Now he has to bring in players he can really trust, that can work with him and give him the desired results. “
“Arteta needs to do more because Arsenal fans are yearning for more.”
