With Napoli set for a few signings this summer, Fabian Ruiz spoke about the likes of James Rodriguez and Rodrigo.

Since returning from the Spanish national team, Fabian Ruiz has arrived back at Napoli. The midfielder made his debut for La Roka recently. And things are looking great for the Spaniard.

Napoli are set to be one of the most active teams in Italy this summer. The likes of James Rodriguez and Rodrigo have been hotly linked with a move to Naples. And Ruiz is pretty excited by things.

While speaking to , the midfielder spoke about Rodrigo and James Rodriguez. Rodrigo is currently under contract with Valencia but the striker could soon make a switch to Italy. And Ruiz says that both Rodrigo and James Rodriguez would be excellent additions to the team.

Cannavaro praises Manolas and Koulibaly

The former footballer believes both players could boost Napoli's chances to win a UEFA Champions League tournament.

“Playing with great players is always better. Rodrigo is a great striker and we would all be happy to have him with us. The same goes for James Rodriguez. If they were to come to Napoli, they would be welcomed in a big way and I would be happy about it,” the Spaniard said.

One player whose future is still up in the air is Belgium international Dries Mertens. The winger is yet to renew his contract with Napoli. But Ruiz says that it would be amazing if his teammate signed the extension because he can give so much to the club.

“Mertens? We have always been together. He welcomed me when I came here and we speak a lot. I would be pleased if he signed the renewal because he too is a great player who can still give so much to Napoli.”

And with the Neopolitanos failing to stop Juventus becoming the Serie A champions again, new signings are definitely needed. At present, Napoli seem to be the only team that can battle it out for the Scudetto with Juve. A few more signings could really help Carlo Ancelotti’s men lift the title next year.
