The Colombian striker has come out to defend the Argentinean star after his country defeated the Albicelestes 2-0.
Colombia defeated Argentina 2-0 in their opening match of the 2019 Copa America.
And many fans started criticizing Albiceleste superstar Lionel Messi for not scoring in the game.
But today, Colombia’s Radamel Falcao has come out to defend Messi.
“If Messi scores a goal, people ask for two. If he scores a free-kick, they’ll say the wall wasn’t set up properly,” he told Goal.
“If Argentina loses, it will be talked about like it was his fault.”
“That’s the price you pay for being the best player in the world,” he added.
“We can’t think that we are favorites after beating Messi’s Argentina.”
“A lot is missing. We are just starting and anything can happen. If you fall asleep here, you will lose.”
Colombia is set to play against guests Qatar this Wednesday and then will play again on Sunday against Paraguay to close all the action of Group B.
