The Parc des Princes staged a friendly between PSG and Celtic, and this time there were fans present to cheer the teams on.
The Bundesliga and La Liga finished their seasons without fans in attendance at the stadium to cheer on the teams.
The Premier League and Serie A will finish their respective seasons in a similar fashion.
While the French Ligue 1 was one of the first to abandon their season finale due to COVID-19, they have become one of the first to welcome fans back into the stadiums.
The Parisiens had already played one game against Le Havre which they won nine-nil. Fans were present, but it wasn’t at the Parc des Princes.
As PSG took on Scottish champions Celtic to not only prepare for the new Ligue 1 season but also prepare for the completion of the Champions League there was the added incentive of welcoming back fans into the mix.
This time they welcomed a little tougher opposition to their home stadium.
The result was not quite as emphatic, it was still formidable. The French Champions ran out four-nil winners with a crowd of five thousand masked fans saw their superstar heroes, Mbappe and Neymar, get on the score sheet.
Listen to the “real fans” cheer on the team. No sound effect this time.
It might not be fifty thousand partisan Parisians on a Champions League night,m but it sure does feel good to see fans back in the seats and hearing them clap and cheer!
