Ansu Fati is content to be playing at Barcelona and does not have any thoughts of moving away, according to his father.
The rise to prominence of Ansu Fati this season has been a boon to FC Barcelona, especially considering the fact that attacking incompetence has caused them a fair share of inconvenience.
17-year old Fati was handed his senior debut back in August and has since made 26 appearances across all competitions while netting six times.
Naturally, the highly-rated forward has attracted much attention. It was reported that he was the subject of a mega-million bid from Manchester United.
Earlier this month, director Xavier Vilajoana insisted that Barca have high hopes pinned on the youth product and hence are not willing to part ways with him under any condition.
Fati’s father recently suggested that his son holds similar views while suggesting that there’s little truth to the Manchester United speculations.
“Ansu can’t be a starter at Barca right now. I’ve always been happy since my son is at Barca,” Bori Fati told Cadena Ser.
“I know nothing about Manchester United. Ansu and I are comfortable here in Barcelona.
“Everyone that leaves Barca then wants to come back. [Lionel] Messi is the father of all footballers there. If you are alongside Messi, you have to be delighted and thank God.”
